De vorm van de lichte en ranke Unfold fauteuil van Stefan Scholten is geïnspireerd door het gebruik van papier.
Met de 10020 Unfold fauteuil zet Gelderland in 2021 samen met Stefan Scholten een belangrijke stap in de verdere verduurzaming van haar meubelproductie. Voor de productie van deze fauteuil wordt bijvoorbeeld geen lijm gebruikt. Daarnaast is het model opgebouwd in verschillende lagen vanuit een metalen frame met biologisch afbreekbare singels.
Een afneembare hoes zorgt vervolgens voor het ranke uiterlijk en aangenaam comfort. Door deze opzet zijn alle componenten herbruikbaar of recyclebaar, wat de fauteuil uitzonderlijk duurzaam maakt.
Voor het ontwerp van de Unfold heeft Stefan Scholten letterlijk een vorm in papier gevouwen om zo tot het huidige ontwerp te komen. Het werd een vorm die je omhuld en je hoofd steun biedt. Het papier gaf hem daarnaast ook de inspiratie om een lichtgewicht meubel te ontwerpen.
De 10020 Unfold fauteuil van Gelderland is volledig van Nederlandse bodem. De fauteuil wordt lokaal en met de hand geproduceerd in onze eigen fabriek in Culemborg. Daarnaast maakt onze unieke stripstoffering het mogelijk om de fauteuil opnieuw te stofferen, waardoor hij generaties lang meegaat. Wij geven 20 jaar garantie op de beukenhouten romp en 7 jaar garantie op bekledingsstoffen, leer en schuim.
